On the 30th of June, 2020 renowned gospel music minister Don Moen clocked 70 years. Many Christian homes and families have been blessed by worship song from this great man of God. His mother made him and his siblings learn to play the piano even though he hated it. At age of 8, he also learned to play the violin.

Don Moen, studied at Oral Robert University where he met his wife Laura with whom they’ve been married for 47 years now.

The first time Don proposed to Laura, rather than say yes, she began to faint, “and I took that as a “no”,” said he, in an interview he conducted with a Nigerian Christian Magazine-The Fountain. However, a year later he proposed again and this time she said yes.

The first scripture Don Moen underlined in his Bible when he gave his life to Christ at age 12 was Psalm 27:4. “One thing have I desired of the Lord, and that will I seek. That I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire in His temple.” 25 years later, he wrote the song, “I Just Want To Be Where You Are.”
